A wedding is a special event in the life of a couple. It is a day full of love, happiness and celebration. All over the world, there are different traditions and customs that are celebrated at a

\n<\/a> are performed at a wedding. These customs are often deeply rooted in the culture of the country and have a long history. We have collected 10 interesting wedding customs from around the world!<\/p>\n

1. Korea:<\/strong> In Korea, the bride and groom wear traditional Korean clothing, called hanbok. During the ceremony, a special rice dish called “Japgokbap” is also served, which stands for good luck and prosperity. Another tradition is the throwing of chicken eggs, which symbolize fertility and the blessing of children. The wedding ceremony ends with a jug being smashed on the floor to keep away evil spirits and guarantee a happy marriage.<\/p>\n

2. Scotland:<\/strong> In Scotland, grooms often wear a kilt and a dagger, while the bride wears a traditional white bridal veil. A wedding dance called the “Ceilidh” is danced after the ceremony.<\/p>\n

The food is also often Caribbean, with jerk chicken and rice and beans. A popular habit is “jumping the broom”. The bride and groom jump together over a broom lying on the ground to symbolize their union.<\/p>\n

The food is also traditional, with braai (grilled meat) and pap (a kind of maize porridge). A popular custom is the “fencing of the bride and groom”, in which the couple is symbolically surrounded by a group of friends and family members to protect them from negative influences.<\/p>\n
