Green Hotel Certification

We are committed to preserving values and treating nature and our entire environment with care.

Since 2011 , the Hotel Linslerhof has held the title of “Certified Green Hotel.” As a conference hotel , the Linslerhof is among the business hotels that meet the strict requirements of the German Travel Management Association (VDR).

Our initiatives include, among other things, generating solar power, conserving electricity in our hotel and restaurant operations, and operating our own on-site wastewater treatment plant. Through these efforts, we reduce our consumption of resources and continuously improve our environmental performance.

Energy

We are one of the largest private producers of solar power in the Saarland and supply more than 10,000 households in the region. We also generate solar power for our own use with our ground-mounted photovoltaic system.

E-mobility

Hotel guests can charge their electric vehicle at our two 22KW wallboxes at low cost. And 10 times faster than from a household socket!

Bees

As a bee-friendly farm, we have a wildflower meadow and our own bee colonies, which produce delicious Linslerhof honey. (Available at the reception.)

Water

The farm’s own wastewater treatment plant ensures that the wastewater is biologically treated before it is returned to the water cycle.

Drinks

As an alternative to a minibar in the room, our “Roter Salon” is a 24-hour self-service bar. You are welcome to leave drinks for cooling at reception.

Gastronomy

Our restaurant places great importance on sourcing products from regional suppliers. 100% of our vegetables are grown locally, and we offer Saarland Moselle wine, various Demeter wines, as well as local schnapps and beer. Our coffee, espresso, and chocolate are Fairtrade and organic certified. Induction cooktops are primarily used in the kitchen. Food scraps are reused whenever possible (e.g., vegetable and meat trimmings for stocks and soups), and waste is sorted and collected separately. Eliminating split shifts has reduced unnecessary travel to and from work.

Modern agricultural management at Linslerhof

Crop farming and livestock raising have shaped the long history of the Linslerhof. Pigs, cattle, and horses found their home in the spacious barns, and grain, rapeseed, and potatoes were grown in the fields.
Ewald Meyer, a passionate farmer, has now been successfully managing the cultivation of the fields and the equestrian facility—with its more than 50 horse stalls and numerous surrounding paddocks—as a service provider for over 35 years.

Rye, barley, corn, and canola are grown on the estate’s 130 hectares of farmland. As an essential part of modern agricultural management, the types of crops grown are rotated every three years to maintain soil fertility in the long term and reduce the strain on individual plots. Hay and straw are harvested from an additional 130 hectares of the estate’s own land, allowing them to be used at the riding facility without having to be transported long distances.

Certified Green Hotel

Our hotel is certified as a Green Hotel. Among other things, the certification evaluates measures in the areas of energy efficiency, resource conservation, and regional sourcing. From using energy-saving light bulbs and natural cleaning products to promoting local and organic foods in our restaurant, we implement measures that continuously reduce our energy and resource consumption.

Please support our efforts to use energy, water, and resources efficiently.

Drinking water

Please use the water bottles in your room to fill up yourself. Our drinking water from natural sources is low in lime and of the best quality. Mineral water is available at reception.

Light

We use energy-saving LED bulbs throughout the hotel. Please switch off the light when you leave your room.

Heat

In cold temperatures, we ask you to close the windows after airing and when you leave the room.

Cleaning

We use natural cleaning agents. For stays of more than one night, we also clean your room every three days and change the bed linen and towels accordingly.
